Our 17 -35’s Youth Ministry has proven to be one of the most strategic investments a church can make. It helps young people develop a genuine, lasting faith, creates a place where they belong, and equips them to navigate the challenges of growing up in an increasingly digital, fast-changing world.

Research consistently shows that many people who decide to follow Jesus make that decision before the age of 18. The teenage years are a formative season when identity, values, and worldview are being shaped. A healthy youth ministry provides intentional discipleship during this critical stage of life.

A strong youth ministry helps by:

  • Building authentic faith – Helping young people engage with Scripture, ask honest questions, and develop a faith that is personal rather than inherited.
  • Creating a genuine sense of belonging – Offering meaningful friendships, trusted mentors, and a safe community where every young person feels seen, valued, and accepted.
  • Supporting mental and emotional wellbeing – Providing encouragement, accountability, and caring adults who help teenagers navigate anxiety, loneliness, identity, relationships, and life’s challenges through a biblical perspective.
  • Equipping young people for everyday life – Addressing real-world topics such as social media, relationships, decision-making, purpose, resilience, and integrity with practical, faith-based guidance.
  • Partnering with parents – Reinforcing what families are teaching at home and supporting parents as the primary influence in their children’s spiritual development.
  • Developing servant-hearted leaders – Helping teenagers discover their gifts, build confidence, take responsibility, and serve both within the church and in their wider community.
  • Encouraging lifelong church involvement – Giving young people meaningful opportunities to worship, serve, lead, and participate in the life of the church so they remain connected into adulthood.
  • Creating opportunities for outreach – Providing a welcoming, low-pressure environment where young people feel comfortable inviting friends to explore faith and experience authentic Christian community.
  • Building intergenerational relationships – Connecting teenagers with mature Christians who can mentor, encourage, and model faithful living across different stages of life.
